She was born in Clay County, IN, to the late Kenneth L. and Edith L. Wolverton Short. Mary married Charles A. Walters, Jr., and he preceded her in death in 1993. She was employed with Lionel Manufacturing Co. for 16 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of the Beech Grove Senior Bowling League.
Mary was a loving aunt who cared deeply and is survived by nieces and nephews; and sisters, Letha Hiland and Martha Alex. Her siblings, Herbert, Charles, Wayne, and Nona Short, Alma Stewart, Gladys West, Orpha Morwick, and Millie Lynch, preceded her in death.
