Mass of Christian burial was held Saturday morning, Aug 20, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, preceded by a Christian Wake Friday evening and followed by vault interment at Tillamook IOOF Cemetery for Mildred (Millie) B Pohl, who died Aug 16 in Tillamook after an extended illness.

Officiating were Father Dick Rossman of the Sacred Heart Church and Pastor Larry Blum of Redway, California Church of the Nazarene, who is a grandson of Mrs Pohl. Casket bearers included Sam Biggs, Jim Biggs, Larry Blum, John Blum, Murray Prince and Bob Prince, all grandsons of Mrs. Pohl.

She was born November 2, 1896 in Tillamook and was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Bartenuk) Kodad. She grew up and attended schools and was a life-long resident of Tillamook.

Her first husband, Fred Biggs, preceded her in death in 1944. She married John Pohl in Vancouver, Wash, on June 30, 1945. One of her sons, Robert Biggs, died in 1946. And then after almost 33 years together, her husband John Pohl also preceded her in death in 1978.

Mrs Pohl was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Tillamook County Pioneers. Mrs Pohl is survived by sons Boyd Biggs of Tillamook; Fred Biggs of Dallas; daughters Dorene Walton and Vera Blum of Tillamook; 22 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
