DECATUR - Catharine Lucille Tucker Crow, 92, of Decatur, IL, died Tuesday, November 30, 2010, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 4, 2010, at First United Methodist Church, Decatur, IL. Cremation rites will be accorded and burial will be in Lawrenceville Cemetery, Lawrenceville, IL at a later date. Memorials may be made to Decatur Public Library or First United Methodist Church. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be handling the arrangements.
Lucille was born July 2, 1918 in Urbana, Illinois, the daughter of Loy Gilbert and Catherine Stillwell Tucker. On May 16, 1937, she married Clarence Vernon Crow in Vincennes, IN.. He preceded her in death on September 9, 2005. Lucille graduated from Urbana High School and attended the University of Illinois.
She was a board member and past president of Friends of the Library, former board member of the League of Women Voters, PTA past president, and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She and her husband traveled extensively and she wrote travel articles and occasional Prairie Talk columns for the Herald & Review. She retired from Illinois State Employment Service in 1982.
She is survived by her children David Gilbert Crow and wife Mary of Kelso, WA, Sally Lucille Crow Schuman and husband Jauque of Laramie, WY, Patti Verna Crow Scott and husband Matthew of Decatur, IL, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
