Note that George's surname is spelled Sprenckel on his tombstone. I have used Sprenkle on the memorial to make a search for him easier.

George was the son of the immigrant Michael Sprenkel (Sprenckel, Sprengel). We believe George was born in what was then Hellam Twp., Lancaster Co., and is now W. Manchester Twp., York Co.

Earlier transcriptions of the tombstone show that he died at 63 years, 6 months (days not legible).

George is a Sons of the Revolution patriot ancestor. According to their records, during the Revolutionary War, George served as a Private in the 1st and 5th Companies, 3rd Battalion, York Co., PA Militia. He is also a Daughters of the American Revolution patriot ancestor. Their records show that he served under Capts. Emanuel Herman and Rhinehart Bott in the 5th Co., York Co., PA Militia. (Note that the DAR standardizes the the way surnames are spelled in their database. You will find him as George Sprinkle.)

George married twice:
(1) Christina Eyster [various spellings of her surname]
(2) Anna Barbara ("Barbara") Miller

George's probate records include the following children: Anna Maria, George, Michael, Elizabeth, John, Barbara, Magdalena, Frederick, Daniel. He also had a daughter named Anna Catharina & a son named Peter, who apparently predeceased him. Most of his children were baptized at St. Paul's (Wolf's) Church.
