Robert M. Ratcliff of Lafayette, 60, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1982, at 2:04 p.m. in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette, where he had been a patient since November 29. He had been ill several years.
Born Aug. 21, 1922, in Delphi, his parents are John and Elizabeth Merrell Ratcliff. They survive. He married Mabel Light in Lafayette in 1969 and she survives.
A graduate of 1940 Delphi High School, he owned Bob Ratcliff Real Estate agency in Lafayette, built homes and apartments and was a land developer in the Delphi, Lafayette and Monticello areas.
Ratcliff was a World War II Navy veteran and ember of Delphi Presbyterian Church, Delphi American Legion, Voiture 40 & 8 in Lafayette and Elks Club in Port Charlotte, Fla. During the winter he lived in Punta Gorda, Fla.
Surviving with the wife are one son, Ted. L. Ratcliff, Rt. 1, Burnettsville; one daughter, Mrs. John (Sherrell) Weston of Lafayette; one stepson, Gary Light of Peoria, Ill.; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Rex (Janice) Wright of Wolcott; his parents; one brother, Dean Ratcliff; one sister; Virginia Thompson, all of Delphi; five grand children and four step-grandchildren.
Services were at Thompson Funeral Home, Delphi, Tuesday with Rev. Ellis Gasser officiating. Military graveside rites were held at Masonic Cemetery.
