John "Herb" Ferrell
John "Herb" Ferrell, age 82, of Sneedville, passed away Monday, Nov. 29, 2010. He was a member of Pond Hill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Texie Golden Ferrell; son, Alvin Ferrell; parents, Harve and Maude Ferrell; several sisters and one brother.
Survivors include son, Allen "Joe" Ferrell of Sneedville; daughter, Peggy Helton of Russellville; sisters, Faye Burton of Sneedville, Margie Lamb of Rogersville and Sue Manis of Rogersville; brother, Kelse Ferrell of Eidson; daughter-in-law, Patricia Ferrell of Whitesburg; special grandchildren, Mark, Rebecca, Cindy and Shawnda; other grandchildren, Neil, Christy and Dewayne; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff of Amedisys Hospice.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010 at the McNeil Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Mullins and the Rev. Guy Richardson officiating. Interment will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 3, 2010 at the Pond Hill Church Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be his grandchildren and nephews.
