Joy Marie Morris Rees: Sept. 12, 1924 — Nov. 20, 2010
Joy Marie Morris Rees passed away on Nov. 20 at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. She was 86. She was born on Sept. 12, 1924 in Evanston the third of nine children born to John Willard and Reva Neville Morris. On Feb. 7, 1946 she married William J (Billy) Rees in Las Vegas, Nev. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on Feb. 20, 1966. They were the parents of eight children. He preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 1985.
Joy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings, including a temple mission to Chicago, Illinois; some of which was served in the Washington, DC Temple; and another mission to the Georgia Macon Mission.
She is survived by her children: sons, Allen (Ruth) Rees of Fort Bridger; Scott (Judy) Rees of Logan, Utah; Dugan (Monica) Rees of Robertson; daughters: Kathy (Pat) Rees of Evanston; Phyllis (Pete) Pribbernow of Pavillion; Hope (Kirk) Bennett of Lyman; and Faith (Steve) Revelli of Highland, Utah; 22 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers: John Morris and Lloyd Morris; and two sisters: Eileen Gross and Eunice Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents; a step-father; her husband; a daughter, Dale Lynn Rees; and a son, Pat Rees; three brothers, Junior, Frank and George Morris; a sister, Selena Cook; a son-in-law, Terry Tanner; and a step brother, Henry Roswell Morris (Pee Wee).
Funeral services will be held on Nov. 27, at 11 a.m. at the LDS Stake Center in Urie. A viewing will be held on Friday, Nov. 26 from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services on Saturday.
