Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Emanuel Baptist Church of Roodhouse for Mrs. Violet Phillips, 59. wife of the Rev. Ollie Phillips of Roodhouse. In charge of the services will be the Rev. Albert Hinners. Burial will be in the Richwoods Cemetery, near Roodhouse.
Mrs. Phillips was pronounced dead on arrival at Alton Memorial Hospital, Christmas Day, after a head on crash on Rte. 67. near Godfrey.
She was the daughter of Mrs. Nellie Cummins of Roodhouse and the late Raymond Cummins.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Margie Shelton of Bangkok, Thailand: a son, Rev. Gerald Phillips of Dupo; eight grandchildren; five sisters. Mrs. Curtis Edwards of Meredosia, Mrs. Lester Hoots of Patterson. Mrs. Ralph Reid of Murrayville. Mrs. Rosco Orten of Washington and Mrs. Pat O'Brien of Greenfield: and five brothers, Orval of Alexander, Kenneth of Wichita Falls, Tex., Floyd of Roodhouse. Junior of Grand Junction. Colo. and Roy of Mason City, Ill.
Visitation at the Mackey Funeral Home. Roodhouse will begin after 3 p.m. Saturday.

Violet was a daughter of Raymond and Nellie Mae (Dyer) Cummins. She married Ollie Phillips and had two children with him. She was killed and Ollie fatally injured in a car wreck returning home from spending Christmas with their family.
