Lee Burt, 76, succumbs
ALMA-- Lee G. Burt, 76, of 5878 Jerome Road, Alma, died Tuesday, April 28 at Gratiot Community Hospital following a short illness. He was born Feb. 7, 1894, in Gratiot County, the son of Clark E. and Samantha Badgley Burt.
On Oct. 16, 1911, he was united in marriage to Gertrude Grace Schartzer. A life-long resident of Gratiot County, he was a farmer and a retired rural mail carrier with 43 years of service.
Mr. Burt is survived by his wife and two sons, Dr. Loren Burt and Wayne Burt, both of Alma; three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 1 at 2 p.m. from the Dewey Funeral Home in Alma with the Rev. Richard Anderson of St. Johns Episcopal Church officiating. Internment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Alma.
Fellow postal employees will serve as pallbearers.
