ALBUQUERQUE---Lee Allen, 23, of Rio Rancho, died Sunday, July 28, 1996, at University Hospital in Albuquerque.
He will lie in state 9 a.m.-9 p.m. today at Denton-Funchess Funeral Home. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Victory Baptist Church with Pastor Dennis McKinley of Landmark Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery.
He was born Aug. 20, 1972 in Carlsbad to Robert Daniel and Patricia Darlene Irish Allen. He grew up in Carlsbad and graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1990.
He was active in athletics and was an All-District 4AAAA and second team All-State football player. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Army for five years until June 1995, where he excelled and received many commendations and graduated in the top of his class in basic training, PODC and academic training.
He married Heather Roberts April 22, 1992 in Carlsbad. He and his family moved to Rio Rancho, where he was employed by Intel in October 1995. He received an outstanding employee commendation. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Carlsbad.
Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife, Heather Allen; son, Daniel Allen of Rio Rancho; parents, Danny and Darlene Allen of Carlsbad; sister, Stephanie Seabrease of Alamogordo; paternal grandparents, Billy and Naomi Allen and maternal grandparents Bob and Pat Irish, all of Carlsbad.
Bearers are Roland Allen, Chris Bass, Mike Irish, Ricky Irish, Billy Markham and Chris Seabrease.
