LAUREL — John E. Byrd
John E. Byrd, 70, of Ellisville, died Monday, Nov. 29, 2010, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
John enjoyed fishing and listening to gospel music.
He was preceded in death by his father, J. C. Byrd; and mother, Ida Jane Carrol Byrd.
Survivors include his spouse, Bettye Carolyn Rayburn Byrd of Ellisville; sons, Byron Byrd (Kathy) of Sharon, Brad Byrd (Ashley) of Laurel, and Casey Gatlin of Birmingham, Ala.; daughters, Belinda Beesley (Randy) of Ovett, Delena Williams (Jim) of Sharpsburg, Ga., and Christie Huff of Ellisville; brothers, James Byrd (Sandra) and Jerry Byrd (Lynn), all of Myrick; sister, Carol Byrd of Ellisville; aunts, Marie Hill of Soso, Gladys Byrd of Laurel, and Dot Byrd of Myrick; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jim Williams, Cody Donald, Kevin Ray, Scott Arrington, Scott Walker and John Gerlach. Honorary pallbearers are Wesley Byrd and Andrew Donald.
Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel, which is in charge of arrangements.
