Jimmy F. Beason, age, 77 of Leeds, Alabama passed away on November 28, 2010. Mr. Beason was a member of Ashville Road Church of Christ. He coached his son in baseball at Huffman ballpark and LM Smith school and his grandson in basketball at Leeds Civic Center. He was retired with 40 years of service from Birmingham Stove and Range/Atlanta Stove works. Mr. Beason served in the Korean War with the 23rd QM, HQ company. He is preceded in death by his parents - Sylvan C. and Jennie Beason; sister - Malene Ward.
He is survived by his wife - Geralyn Goodwin Beason; daughter - Dari Beason Guthrie (Larry); son - Barton Beason; brother - Donald Beason; grandchildren - Ryan Beason, Laura, Josuha and Chad Guthrie and three nieces.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 12:00 PM at Kilgroe Funeral Home-Leeds Chapel with burial in Beulah Cemetery in Sterrett.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Kilgroe Funeral Home- Leeds Chapel.
