On Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010, our mother and grandmother, Lola M. Hemphill, passed away peacefully after a happy life of almost 84 years. As we feel a loss of her close companionship, we know that her reuniting with loved ones has been a joy-filled blessing. This sweet reunion with spouse, parents and five siblings assure a new dawn in her grand, eternal life.
Lola was born in Mount Pleasant, Utah, on Jan. 29, 1927, to Shirley and Margaret Marx. Raised most of her life in Salt Lake City, Utah, she has resided in Heyburn, Idaho, for the past 42 years. Lola was employed at Simplot for more than 20 years, where she formed many lasting friendships with co-workers.
Lola leaves behind few temporal belongings; her emphasis was on raising her daughter and son - we love you mom! Her six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren adored their "Grandma in Idaho." She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Lola was preceded in death by her spouse, Gerald Hemphill; parents; five infant siblings; and a sister, Dottie Burton. She is separated for a season from her daughter, Lorrie Kathleen Norman (Merrill) of Salt Lake City, Utah; and son, Robert Lynn Burchett of Heyburn, Idaho.
We extend special thanks to the staff at Countryside Care, who were her angels.
