William Sie "Willie" Davis, 72, of 1718 Manning, a lifelong Winfield resident, died Oct. 24, 1996, at Winfield Rest Haven.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Miles Funeral Service with interment in Highland Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.
Born March 2, 1924, in Winfield, Davis was a son of Joe and Eliza Jannie (Thompson) Davis. After attending Winfield schools, he served with the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific Theatre during World War II. Following the war, he attended Winfield High School and graduated in 1947. He later attended Southwestern College.
Davis was employed by Hittle Service and Kellogg Farmers Co-op Elevator before being recalled to service with the Navy during the Korean War.
Davis began working as a psychiatric aide at Winfield State Hospital and Training Center in the 1950s and retired from the hospital in 1987 after more than 30 years of service.
Davis was a member of the Second Baptist Church, served as the first president of the WSH&TC Association of Psychiatric Aides and had served as commander of American Legion Post 10. He was also affiliated with Walnut Valley Chapter of the Masonic Lodge, was a former worthy patron of Manilla Chapter 22 of the Order of the Eastern Star and held the 32nd degree at Emmett Temple Shrine in Wichita.
Survivors include two sisters, Shirley Faucette and Joan Willis, both of Winfield.
