(January 10, 1927 - November 29, 2010)

Marion Billy Little (Bill), 83,Fair Play, MO., died Monday, Nov. 29th, 2010, in a car accident near Bear Creek. He was born Jan. 10th, 1927 in Cromwell, Okla., to William Penn and Dovie Adilea Launa(Eaton) Little. Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Lucille, of the home, two daughters and a son. Susan and Robert Neese, Fair Play, Judy and Martin Clark, Stockton, Bill Little Jr. of Mt. Olive, Alabama. He is survived by one sister, Mona Pemberton, Chula Vista, Calif. 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, many nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his beloved Father, Mother,brother and three sisters.

Growing up in the depression, Bill learned early the value of hard work and the dollar. He started working as a paper boy as a youngster, biking for many miles on his route. Then he worked at an airport starting prop airplanes. Bill was very athletic and loved to show it with his tumbling, playing ball and football . He was a dedicated Boy Scout, where he learned the values and talent of hunting, fishing, and love of God and Country. After high school, he joined the Air force in 1945 in time to see the ravaged cities of WWII. He fell in love with flying, and later got his pilots license and after retirement, his own plane. He got great joy in flying and giving friends rides. Dec. 1st, 1946, he married his school sweetheart, Lucille and they've shared love and life for, 2 days short of, 64 years.

After Air Force he joined the Arizona Air National Guard, where he was frequently called to active duty. He retired in 1972 as a Senior Master Seargent. Bill and Lucille then retired to the Master's area on Stockton Lake and enjoyed running a bait and tackle store for 16 years, taking RV trips to Ariz. for the Winters. For years Bill was active in the Lake Assoc., promoting the Lake. He was also a member of the American Legion #138, and V.F.W.

Bill never met a stranger, and loved sharing his many stories of life. He loved encouraging his family, grandchildren and entertaining everyone with his card tricks and magic.

No one was more Patriotic and proud of it. Bill was a devoted Son, husband, father, grandfather, family man, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all, but always sweetly remembered. Visitation are Thurs., Dec. 2nd, 2010, 7pm to 8pm, Brumback Funeral Home, Stockton, MO. Services are Fri., Dec. 3rd, 2010,at 1:00 PM at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, MO. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Veterans Cemetery in his honor.
