BLUE MOUNTAIN
Services for Elna Lawler Griffith, 89, of Blue Mountain will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Blue Mountain Baptist Church with Revs. John Whetstone Jr. and Bob Ford officiating. Burial will be in Crook Cemetery in Ohatchee with Chapel Hill Funeral Home and Crematory in charge. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.
Mrs. Griffith died Sunday at Hart County Hospital in Hartwell, Ga.
Survivors include two daughters, Theresa G. Shuler and Tuajuana Griffith Tucker, both of Hartwell; two sons, Ken Griffith of Anniston and Ted Griffith of Ohatchee; a sister, Mishie Whetstone of Anniston; a brother, Odell Lawler of Adrien, Mich.; 13 grandchildren, Keli Griffith, Kendra Hollaway, Kerri Griffith, Silas Griffith, Caleb Griffith, Zachary Griffith, Shana Silvey, Jamie Truett, Amber Griffith, Patrick Griffith, Tiffinee Andrews, Toby Tucker and Tracy Wheeler Unverzagt, 10 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be R.C. Bryant and Revs. Terry Smith and James Cohorn.
Mrs. Griffith was a native of Bear Creek and had lived in Blue Mountain 68 years. She was retired from Blue Mountain Industries and was a member of Blue Mountain Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Griffith, and a grandchild, Kassandra Griffith Talbott.
