Pauline May Clark

Pauline May Clark, age 91, of Newark DE, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2010.

Mrs Clark was born in Harrington DE on January 25, 1919, daughter of the late Nathan Stubbs and Ella Ruth (Glandin) Stubbs. A talented homemaker and gifted cook, she devoted her life to caring for her beloved family.

Mrs Clark was a devout Christian and lifelong member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Newark, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a talented musician, as well, and enjoyed both playing the mandolin and listening to gospel music.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Albert Clark, in 1993, and her daughter, Shirley A Sharpe, in 2008. She is survived by her grandchildren, James W Kelly of Newark, William M Kelly (Alice) of Newark, Sharon Delgado (Jorge) of Bear, Carlene Glanden (Brian) of Elkton, MD, and David Kelly (Dolores) of Georgetown; niece, Marie Morris of Milford; 9 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, December 3, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark. A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, December 4, at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N DuPont Parkway, New Castle DE.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene, 357 Papermill Road, Newark DE 19711.
