James E. Dingess June 8, 1932 — Nov. 19, 2010
James Edward Dingess, 78, of Crossville, passed away Nov. 19, 2010. Funeral services were held Nov. 24 from the chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with Pastor R. C. Meadows officiating. Interment was held in Haleys Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Dingess was born June 8, 1932, in Chapmansville, WV, the son of Thomas Clay and Lillie Mae Curry Dingess.
He worked for General Motors before retiring. he was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. He enjoyed singing, building, taping shows and music. He stayed busy and enjoyed playing pranks.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Lou Dingess; son, Ronnie Hios and wife Brenda of OH; daughters, Debora Maynard and husband Samuel, Becky Phipps and husband Randy both of Crossville and Jamie Pennington; brother, Merle Thomas Dingess; sister, Sandra Lee Leaver-Braun; grandchildren, Billy, Scott, Tracy, Becky, Amanda, Jessie, Shannon, James, Johnny, Tonya, Beth and Derek; and 20 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Gus Hios; daughter, Doris Scaife; brothers, Stanley Dingess and Bernie Dingess; and sister Shelia Trader.
Pallbearers were Honor Guard members who provided full military honors.
