John married Mary Florence Strong Oct. 30, 1892 in Marietta, OK. IT. They raised six children. John was a very devoted husband and father. A Woodmen of the World member, he was a carpenter and also a barber.
John had epilepsy, a very misunderstood illness in his time. He was very close to his mother and she lived with him and his family in her old age.
John and Mary left Oklahoma and moved to Amarillo, Texas in the early 1900's by covered wagon, someday I would like to know why.
