RACINE - As evening faded and met the dawn of the day, Gabriel opened the gates to Sue Stephan's heavenly home on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, and lead her to eternal life as she laid surrounded by her family. Sue was born in Milwaukee on March 29, 1942, to Bill and Mary Jo (nee: McDonald) Drobnik. She married Gary W. Stephan on November 5, 1966, at Immaculate Conception Parish. Sue was a Florist at Miller's Flowers in Racine and Rose's Flowers in Wauwatosa. She was most recently an Educational Assistant at the Red Apple School. Sue was a former Girl Scout Leader and a Den Leader. She was a member of the PTA, Lighthouse Quilters, and the Book Club at Red Apple School. Sue was also a former Sunday School Teacher at St. Patrick's Catholic Church and a member of the "high school club" for 45 years. She enjoyed camping and canoeing with her family. Most importantly, Sue was a proud wife, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother to her family. Sue is survived by her husband, Gary W. Stephan; her children, Bill (Brenda) Stephan, Katy (Alex) Cothell, Andy (Monica) Stephan, and Ann Stephan; grandchildren, Ian Postler, Grace Stephan, Logan Stephan, Emily Stephan, Bijou Stephan, Jordan Stephan and Kade Stephan; sister, Margaret Drobnik; brother, Jay (Kathy) Drobnik; and brother-in-law, Dennis Stephan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mary Jo Drobnik; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Willard and Rose Stephan. A Mass of Christian Burial for Sue will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church on Friday, December 2, 2005, at 11 a.m. with Rev. William Dietzler officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 4 until 8 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Memorials to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church or the church of your choice have been suggested. The family would like to express their sincere thank you to the staff at the All Saints Infusion Clinic, Hospice Alliance, Bill Lovedahl, Gina Cerminax, and Amy Rivera; and to cousins, Shirley Kamakian and Jan Hayek, for all of their care, compassion, and understanding.
