Catherine L. Sherrer, 83, of Williams Township, died Monday, Aug. 21, in Eastwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Wilson. She was the wife of Newton H. Sherrer, who died in 1993.

She was church organist at St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hellertown, for 35 years before retiring in 1998. She also served as organist for 15 years at the former St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Raubsville, until the church closed in 1997. She was a substitute organist at St. John's Lutheran Church, Williams Township and taught private piano lessons at her home.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late S. Clyde and Florence Buss Trittenbach. She was raised from infancy by the late Collins and Annie Trittenbach.

She was a member of St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hellertown.

Survivors: Son, Richard N. of Seoul, Korea; daughter, Carole E. Mebus of Williams Township; sisters, Mae Werkheiser and Ruth T. Kotch, both of Fort Myers, Fla., Grace Meitzler of Emmaus.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hellertown. Call 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Strunk Funeral Home, 602 W. Berwick St., Easton.
