Press Gazette (Hillsboro, OH) - Fri., Apr. 2, 1954

Flavius Joseph Vinsonhaler, a son of F.J. and Elvira Sanders Vinsonhaler, was born near May Hill, Ohio, on March 20, 1874; and came to the end of his earthly pilgrimage on his eightieth, March 20, 1954, at Highlands Community Hospital in Hillsboro.
On December 29, 1901, he was united in marriage to Ella May Siders, and to them were born two children, Milford and Pearl. In addition to his son and daughter, both at home, Mr. Vinsonhaler is survived by a sister, Mrs. Ella Smith in California. A number of nieces and nephews also survive him. His wife, his parents, three brothers, John, James and George, and three sisters, Emma Vinsonhaler, Ada Vinsonhaler and Mrs. Nellie Caplinger, preceded him in death.
In 1905 he made confession of his faith in the saving power of Christ and was baptized at the May Hill Church. In 1918, when he and his family moved to Hillsboro, he transferred his membership to the Hillsboro Church of Christ, and for thirty-six years he has been a member of that family of the Body of Christ. For many years he was a member of the Board of Officers of the church.
Quiet and unassuming, F.J. Vinsonhaler was a tiller of the soil. In the fields and woodlands he lived close to the handiwork of the Creator, and every spring for many years he saw the foretokens of immortality in the new life which sprang forth from the seemingly lifeless clod for "Who reaps the grain and plows the sow, Must feel a kinship with his God; For there's so much on earth to see, That marks the hand of Dieity. When blossom springs from tiny shoot, When orchard yields its luscious fruit, When sap is running from great trees -- On all occasions such as these, The man who breathes fresh country air, Must know full well that God is there."
So today we pay tribute to his long life, and we entrust his spirit into the eternal keeping of the Heavenly Father in whom he firmly believed.

Note: Neither of his children married so he had no further descendants.
