"Served in Rev. War; Surgeon, 4th Va. Oct. 14, 1776; 3rd Va. June 1779 to Oct. 1774 under Gen. Wayne. Buried in village graveyard, McMahon & companion bur. in one grave, which is marked" (Source - "Official Roster of the Soldiers of the American Rev. Buried in the State of Ohio", Ancestry.com); He is named on this bronze plaque and "Battle of Fort Recovery" marker nearby; His death is described in book, "Bayonets in the Wilderness" by Alan D. Gaff, 2004, pgs. 243, 244, killed by Indians at this battle, serving under Gen. Anthony Wayne.
