Mrs. Laura Kissinger, 86, a former resident at Terrace Apartments, Kiel, died Monday afternoon at Rocky Knoll where she had resided the past seven weeks.
The former Laura Diels was born Jan. 29, 1893, near West Bend, a daughter of George and Catherine Faber Diels. The family moved to the Town of Rhine when she was a young girl where she attended the district school.
On June 11, 1910, she was married to Carl P. Kissinger at St. Peter United Church of Christ, Town of Rhine. The couple resided on the Kissinger home farm in the Town of Rhine. They moved to Ada in 1954. After the death of her husband on Dec. 10, 1974, Mrs. Kissinger moved to Kiel.
She was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ. Town of Rhine, and its Ladies Aid Society.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Alvin (Ruby) Rabe, Kiel, and Mrs. Harold (Arlyle) Arnhoelter, Route-1, Elkhart Lake; a son, Elmer, Kiel; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Clarence Mueller, Plymouth, and two brothers, Phillip Diels, rural Plymouth, and Andrew Diels, Plymouth.
A grandson, a sister and two brothers preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Peter United Church of Christ, the Rev. Robert Matlack, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
