Funeral services for Coach H. Harris, 80, Lineville, will be Monday, April 19, 2010 a.m. at Lineville Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Colquett and Dr. Wayne A. Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in Lineville City Cemetery.

Mr. Harris passed away Friday, April 16, 2010 at Russell Medical Center, in Alexander City. Coach Harris was a Lineville High School graduate, Auburn University football player and graduate, an 11 year U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean Conflict and obtained the rank of Captain. Coach Harris served for over 30 years as an educator, principal, history, science and math teacher and as coach of Lamar County High School, Harelson County High School and Clay County High School. His character and integrity served as a role model for many young people through out his life.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jessie Lynn Hill Harris; daughters and sons-in-law, Jan and Tony Meyer, Alexander City, Beth and Russell Dewberry, Alexander City; sons, Hal and Phyllis Harris, Lineville and Johnny Harris, Woodstock. GA; sister, Barbara Joan Harris, Lineville; sister-in-law, Emma Jo Harris, Pell City, Alice Hogan, Grant, Carolyn Hill, Madison; grandchildren, great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Thomas Harris and Daisy Eugenia Summerlin and brother, Charles Marion Harris.
