David W. Alwood
David W. Alwood, 1485 East Philadelphia Street, died at 11:30 o'clock last night, 30 minutes after he was admitted to York Hospital.
Hospital authorities said the 49-year-old superintendent at Heilig Brothers Inc., suffered a heart attack while attending the game between York White Roses and Newport News at Memorial Stadium. Alwood was driven to the hospital by his sister, Miss Katherine B. Alwood, who accompanied him to the game. Coroner Lester J. Sell attributed death to a coronary occlusion.
Son of the late Frederick H. and Emma Bauserman Alwood, he leaves his widow, Mrs. Ruth Amspacher Alwood; three sisters, Miss Katherine B. Alwood, Mrs. Burnell W. Trone, and Mrs. Ray Noel, all of Hanover, and a brother, Clair E. Alwood, Hanover.
Before going to Heilig Brothers Inc. plant where he served as superintendent the past two years, he was superintendent at the Hanover Wire Cloth Factory. He was a member of Trinity Reformed Church, Hanover; the Hanover Country Club, the Hanover Lodge 227, Loyal Order of Moose, and the Eagle Fire Company, Hanover.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Frederick Bucher Funeral Home, Hanover. His pastor, the Rev. Dr. Howard E. Sheely, will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
