Louisa Davis Quillen was the youngest of the four daughters of James Hervey Davis and Malinda Crumley, and lived to be 68, the longest of any of the four sisters. Her older sister Nancy died at age 11, and her older sister Lydia died at 16. Her oldest sister, Martha Davis Skaggs McClelland, left for Texas about 1864, and never returned to Virginia, but died at age 34 in Texas in 1875, shortly after the birth of her 5th child. Louisa's eldest daughter, Louisa Florella Florence (Flora)Quillen Tyler, married a physisan and lived in Omaha Nebraska until the age of 103.
Louisa's great niece, Nancy Skaggs Smith Hoenshel, Martha's grand daughter, visited Louisa in 1934 and took the photo shown on the memorial.
Louisa and Lewis had two daughters - Louisa Florella Florence(known as Flora) and Mary Melinda (known as Minnie),and a son, James Harvey Quillen.
