Bivian was the seventh of eight children born to Avery Alonzo and Martha Ann "Mattie" (Keener) Lineberger. He married (1st) Maude Blanche Allen and they had two children: Allen Victor and Frances Patricia. He married (2nd) Lula Catherine Dellinger.
