Melissa Kay Hardin Hooper, 38, of Andrews, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2007, at her residence.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, the daughter of Harold Ray and Martha Maxine Day Hardin of Andrews, and a member of McClelland Cove Baptist Church.

She was a loving wife and caring mother, and a CNA who was very dedicated to her work helping the elderly and the physically challenged through Angel Home Health and Britthaven of Graham. She had most recently worked at Andrews Valley Inn as a housekeeper. She enjoyed fishing, camping and loved animals.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael Hardin in 1971 and Clay Hardin in 1977. and one granddaughter, Abigail Cable in 2006.

Funeral services were held at 2 p. m., Sunday, July 8, at Townson Rose Chapel in Andrews. The Rev. Jimmy McClure and Pastor Harold Stiles officiated. Music was provided by Sonny and Margaret Reighard. Burial was in Old Mother Cemetery in Robinsville. Pallbearers were Roger Stanley, Roy Lee Allen, Shannon Henderson, David Robinson, Eddie Richard Brooms, Dewayne Young and McKenzie Gentle.

Townson Rose Funeral Home, Andrews was in charge of arrangements.
