Lilla Christine (Dawson) Hill, 69, of Union City, Tennessee, died at her home on the morning of October 16, 2002. She was born Dec. 30, 1932, in Tishomingo County, Miss., daughter of the late Leonard and Fannie (Pounders) Dawson. She married Boyd M. Hill Dec. 23, 1952. He survives. She was employed at the former Gurien Finishing Co., in Union City for 16 years and was a member of Union City Second Baptist Church.
Survivors also include her daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Don Pafford of Jackson; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Mike and Pat Hill, Allan Hill and Joe Hill, all of Union City; six grandchildren, Stephanie (Hill) Traverse and her husband, Jason Traverse, of Troy, Nikki Hill and Brittany Hill, both of Union City, Tiffany Carter of Wingo, Ky., and Brent Pafford and Tyler Pafford, both of Jackson; and her great-grandson, Sean Michael Traverse of Troy. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Louise Hamilton; and her brother, Wendell Dawson.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Eddie Mallonee officiating. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Friday in Tishomingo Cemetery in Tishomingo, Miss. Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8 this evening. Pallbearers will be John Wright, Dan Dunn, Bob Hicks, Leroy Perryman, Dale Bryant and Bobby Hopper. The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or Union City Second Baptist Church building fund.
