L.T. Clester, 87, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010, at Manila.

He was born Jan. 29, 1923, at Cardwell, Mo., to Allen and Ruby Krantz Clester.

He was a World War II Navy veteran. He worked as a sawmiller, mechanic and custom harvester.

He was a lifelong resident of Cardwell and member of the Church of Christ. He liked to play his guitar and sing.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Helen Clester; and two sisters, Vestele Lee Grimm and Rachel Henderson.

He is survived by five children, Morris and Ronnie Clester, both of Cardwell, Jim Clester of Paragould, Jane Vines of Manila and Jan Rice of Peel; 10 grandchildren, Destry Clester, Christie Jones, Alisha Compos, Liea Taylor, Rachel, Moriah and Miranda Clester, Darrin McFarlin, Marcus and Stephany Rice; 10 great-grand-children, Hunter and Storm Clester, Bailey Jones, Daniel and Nicholas Compos, Tyler Lee, Kristen, Joshua Rice, Austin and Makayla Smith; and one brother, Charles "Gene" Clester.

Burial was in Cardwell Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were: Marcus Rice, Darrin McFarlin, Destry Clester, Joseph Taylor, Michael Jones and Casey Bruce.
