CHARLES C. BAKER
MARKLEVILLE - Charles C. Baker, 79, of New Columbus, died Wednesday evening at St. John's Hospital. He had been ill several weks. He had spent most of his life in cement construction work.
Born October 17, 1883, in Adams Townshop, Madison County, he was the son of Jeremiah and Sabrina Baker, pioneer residents of Adams Township.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Valorous C. Rector Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. John K. Summers, of the New Columbus Community Church, in charge of the service. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. today.
Survivors include a brother, Homer Baker of New Columbus; five nieces, Mrs Vada Morin of Noblesville, Mrs. Thelma Sharpe of Daleville, Mrs. Sabrina Morin and Mrs. Katherine Smith, all of Anderson; a nephew, Wilbur Moneyhun of Baltimore, Md.; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
