Services for Leon W. Carter, 84, of Brookhaven, MS will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2003 in the Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. David Maxwell and Dr. Bruce McGee. Interment will be in Sharon Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Mr. Carter died Wednesday, June 25, 2003 in Brookhaven, MS following a brief illness. Mr. Carter was retired from the U. S. Marine Corp and was a Veteran of WW II and the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katie Lee Carter, and his parents, Jess and Ludie Carter. Survivors include one brother, Herman T. Carter and wife Betty of Brookhaven, MS; two sisters, Jenell Colvin of Dubach, LA and Winnie Colvin and husband Bobby of West Monroe, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Troy Carter, Boyd Colvin, Bill Colvin, Prentis Barmore, Randy McKinney and George Green. Family will receive friends on Friday, June 27, 2003 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
