Ruth E. Binkley Burkholder, 79, of York, died early Tuesday morning in York Hospital. Mrs. Burkholder worked as a seamstress and as a laborer in a chicken hatchery. More recently she worked for Markey's Farm Market and Greenhouse. She was a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church, its Sunshine Women's Group and Farm Women's group. Born in Paradise Township, she was a daughter of the late Enos F. and Emma Myers Binkley. She was married 60 years on June 10 to Ira K. Burkholder Sr. Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons, Robert L. of Thomasville, Ira K. Jr. of York; and Keith A. of Felton; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Clinton D., and eight brothers and sisters. (Lancaster New Era - Nov 5, 2003)
