Mr. John H. Gore, Sr. Dead-Was
Father of D. L. Gore.
Mr. John H. Gore, Sr., died at his
home near Pireway, Columbus county,
Christmas morning. He was 89 years
of age. Mr. Gore had been sick since
last Wednesday and since he was
taken ill his death had been expected
at any time. Mr. D. L. Gore was with
his father at the time of his death.
The deceased leaves two sons Mr.
D. L. Gore, of this city, and Mr. M. L.
Gore, of Pireway, and one daughter,
Mrs. M. Tuton, of Lowrie, S. C.
Mr. Gore was a man well known in
his county and was one of the leading
citizens in the community in which he
lived.
Mr. D. L. Gore returned to the city
last night.
