The son of Robert Gordon Acheson and Emma Elizabeth Moore.

William Gordon Fallis Acheson married Sylvia Emily Acheson on 14 Aug 1937 at Proton Station, Proton Twp., Ontario, Canada. They had four children.

After Sylvia died he then married Muriel Aleth Matilda Henderson on 24 Nov 1951 at Flesherton, Grey County, Ontario, Canada. Their ceremony was held in the Flesherton Manse.

Gordon died at Headwaters Health Centre in Orangeville. They are all three buried at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dundalk.

He was the beloved husband of Aleth (Henderson) Acheson and the late Sylvia Acheson, and dear father of Gwen Solway of Forest, Robert Acheson of R.R. #4, Flesherton, Jack (Linda) Acheson of Maxwell, Douglas (Marion) Wake of Resonant, Muriel (Robert) Avis of Flesherton, Ruth Little of Shelburne and Emily Carry of Toronto. Will be sadly missed by 25 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Emily Nicholls of St. Thomas and Maude Blair of Burlington. Predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Marlene Acheson, a brother Russell Acheson, and four sisters, Ada Patterson, Edna Stevens, Marjorie Prosser and Roberta MacLean. Rested at the McMillan and Jack Funeral Home, Dundalk where a service was held in the chapel on Tuesday, March 21 at 2:00 p.m. Spring Interment in Dundalk Cemetery.
