BAREFOOT -- Ivan Fredrick, 76, Osterburg, died June 2, 2001, at Altoona Hospital. Born Nov. 23, 1924, in Geistown, son of Durban and Mabel (Sauters) Barefoot. Preceded in death by parents; wife, former Betty Smith; sister, Hazel Koontz; brother, Ronnie Barefoot; and infant twin brother, Donald. Survived by children, Kevin Barefoot, married to Clare Ann (Fyock) Barefoot, Fishertown; and Galen Barefoot, married to Joanna (Malas) Barefoot, Warrenton, Va.; seven grandchildren; brothers, Charles and Harold, Imler; and sisters, Mildred Drummond, married to Blair, New Bethlehem; and Donna Fay Feathers, married to Doyle, East Freedom. Member of St. Peter's Church, Osterburg. U.S. Army veteran. Employed in the trucking business until 1986. He enjoyed working in the garden. Friends were received Monday at Edward Blackburn Funeral Home, Pleasantville, and will be received from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Osterburg, the Rev. Michael VanDyke. Interment, Bedford County Memorial Park, with military gravesite rites by Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
