Services for Edgar Lewis Burke, 73, 617 Culpepper Circle, are pending at West Funeral Home.

He died Wednesday in the local hospital.

He was born Sept. 1, 1912, in Arkansas. He received his education in Stamps, Ark. He came to Carlsbad in 1930 and was employed by Carlsbad Auto Co. In December of 1941, he went to work for the PCA Potash Mine and retired as an electrician in 1973. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of IBEW.

He is survived by his wife, Alva Ruth Burke, Carlsbad.

BURKE

Services for Edgar Lewis Burke, 73, 617 Culpepper Circle, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the West Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery. The Rev. Wilson Holman, Epworth Methodist Church, will conduct the services.

Pallbearers will be V.L. Garner, Raymond W. Whitfield, C.N. Knighton, Ernest Gibbs, Stanley Doyle and Oscar Wilson.
