LOGAN, Utah ­ Mary Frances Bennett, 84, of Logan, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2000, at Logan Regional Hospital.

She was born Feb. 7, 1916, in Sheridan, Wyo., a daughter of Oscar Maurice and Cora Adaline Clark Schnorff. She married Ernest W. Wicklund in 1933; he passed away. She later married William A. Eliason in 1943, and he preceded her in death. She then married Vaughn Maxfield, who also preceded her in death in 1993. She married H. Michael Bennett on Jan. 10, 1995, in Salt Lake City.

She graduated from Campbell City High School in Gillette, Wyo., and has lived in Salt Lake City and Logan. While living in Salt Lake City, she worked for Holy Cross Hospital and the Salt Lake City School District. She was active in the LDS Church and held positions in the Primary and Relief Society.

Survivors include her husband of Logan; and six children: Richard and Lee Wicklund of Sandy, Robert A. Wicklund, Janet Gay Mason of Harrisburg, Pa., David A. and Sandra Eliason of Hunter, Utah, Susan K. and Ted Peterson of Sandy, and Linda and Greg Richmond of West Jordan. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one stepdaughter, Waneta and John Waterman of Iowa; one brother, William W. Higgins of Toquerville, Utah; and a sister, Mildred M. Smith of Harrisburg, Pa. She was preceded in death by her previous husband, Vaughn; and a brother, James Schnorff.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 26, at 2 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State St., Murray, Utah. Friends may call at the mortuary on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Elysian Garden Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Home.
