Louis Chestnut served in the U. S. Army during W. W. II and during the Korean War. He was wounded in each war and received a Purple Heart Medal for each. He earned the Combat Infantryman's Badge, 2 Silver Stars and 5 Bronze Stars. During W. W. II, he served in the Italy and France campaigns. He was captured in January, 1945 by the Germans. He was an American hero.
