Isaac & Elizabeth's large family was made up by 3 sets of twins and 1 set of 'Quads'. First set of twins were born in 1866 one boy one girl, next came the quads born in 1869 all 4 girls but none survived, next in 1870 a set of twin girls. These last 6 children were all girls born 10 months & 5 days apart. She later in Nov of 1874 gave birth to another set of twins, 1 boy 1 girl but the girl did not survive. So as I see it they had 3 sets of twins and a set of quads to make up their 20 children. Isaac Robert Grier served in the CSA's 53rd Al Calvary Unit along with his younger brother John Knox Grier(my gt grandfather) and many other family members.
