Nancy Serena Morrison was the second of six known children of John Smith Morrison (1784-1841) and Mary Stevenson (1786-1851), who married c1810 at presumably Iredell County, North Carolina.

Nancy married (the widower?) Silas Keaton (1816-1876) in c1848 at presumably Iredell County, North Carolina. Nancy and Silas were the parents of three known children , namely:

1. John William Keaton (1849-c1893)
2. Mary Roxanna Keaton Williams (1850-1928)
3. Winslow S. Keaton (1853-c1893)

Nancy and Silas are buried in unmarked graves at the Concord Presbyterian Church Cemetery, at Loray, Iredell County, North Carolina. Also buried at Concord is a Sarah T. Keaton (07 Oct 1816-11 Mar 1844), listed as wife of Silas Keaton. Is this a previous marriage for Silas? A daughter of Elijah (1795-1875) and Ann Stone was known to be the first wife of Silas Keaton, thus Sarah T. Keaton may be Sarah T. Stone Keaton.

In 1850 Silas Keaton (age 34, born NC) was living at Iredell County, Page 411, North Carolina with wife Nancy S. (age 38, born NC), daughter Margaret A. E. (age 9, a child of Silas' previous marriage who married William Bailey in 1856), son John M. (age 1), and Elizabeth Jenkins (age 14). In 1860 Silas (age 44), Nancy (age 48), John M. (age 11), Mary R. (age 9) and Winslow S. (age 7) were living at Union Grove Township, Iredell County, North Carolina. In 1870 Silas, Nancy and son Winslow were living at Sharpesburg Township, Iredell County, North Carolina.
