David Earl Estes, 66, 2201 N. Watt Ave., died at his residence after being stricken ill Sunday. A native of Harrison, Arkansas, he had been a Muncie resident for 33 years, coming here from Winchester. Mr. Estes retired in 1981 from Warner Gear (now Borg-Warner Automotive, Transmission Systems) after 31 years as a machine operator. He was a veteran of World War II and was a member of United Auto Workers Local 287.
Surviving are his wife, Viola; two sons, John, Muncie, and DeWayne, Springfield, Mo.; a daughter, Sandra Sue (Mrs. Clinton)Brown, Blountsville; three brothers, Lee Estes, Parker City, Warren Kenneth Estes, Daleville, and Elmer Eugene Estes, Muncie; two sisters, Irma Price, Indianapolis, and Thelma Farmer, Selma; a grandchild, Cindy Marie Brown, Muncie; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Parson Mortuary-Adams Chapel. Family will receive callers at the mortuary 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be in Fountain Park Cemetery, Winchester.
