C. G. ANDEREGG, 84,DIES IN FLORIDA; WAS FARMER HERE
Mrs. A. E. Beyer received word Tuesday of the death of her father, Charles G. Anderegg, in the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mrs. Fred Scholz, in Lake Wales, Fla. Mr. Anderegg had been in ill health for about two years, but had been bedfast only about a week. Funeral services were held Wednesday in Lake Wales.
LIVED HERE 66 YEARS Mr. Anderegg was a resident of Jefferson township for 66 years before moving in 1919 to Florida, where he operated a fruit farm. He was born June 15, 1853, on the old Anderegg farm, now owned by Ernst Niehaus on Jolly Ridge. There he lived most of his life. For many years he operated an implement shop in Guttenberg, his latest location being in the old Niemeyer building.
RETURNED LAST YEAR
He was married in 1881 to Miss Johanna Phelan in Hollywood, Kan. She died April 14, 1935. Although in ill health at the time, Mr. Anderegg returned to Guttenberg a year ago in May for a visit of several months in the Beyer home. The renewal of old acquaintances seemed to rejuvenate him, and he returned to Lake Wales in October in good health for a man of his years. He is survived by three sons, Edward Anderegg and John Anderegg of Guttenberg, and Oscar Anderegg of California; four daughters, Mrs. Fred Scholz and Mrs. Morris Jones of Lake Wales, Mrs. Margaret Tornowski of Miami, Fla., and Mrs. Beyer; one brother, Herman Anderegg of West Bend; and one half-sister, Mrs. Richard Abbott of Guttenberg.
