"OLIF SAMPSON, WELL KNOWN LOCAL CARPENTER, DIES

Funeral Services Will Be Held At Charles Smith Home Here Sunday Afternoon. Burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery

Olif Sampson, 75 years old, for many years a carpenter and cabinet maker of West Plains, died at his home, one mile west of Homeland at 1 o'clock this morning due to a complication of diseases.

Mr. Sampson, who was born November 26, 1857, near Springfield, Ia., had been a resident of Howell county about 30 years and had made his home on the Homeland farm, seven miles southwest of West Plains throughout this period. He was, for a number of years, employed in the cabinet shop in the Swan Lumber Company's plant here and was known to many friends in West Plains.

On December 26, 1878, he was married at Delta, Ia., to Miss Hanna Ollom, who survives him. To them was born one daughter, Mabel Sampson, who died in infancy. Besides his widow he is survived by only two near relatives, a niece, Mrs. Bert Knowler, of Lacy, Ia., and a nephew, C.L. Garrett, of Des Moines, Ia. Burial will be in Oak Lawn."
