BOSSIER CITY, LA – Services will be conducted at Hill Crest Funeral Home Chapel, Hwy 80 East, Bossier City/Haughton for Sam H. Spurlock, 78, of Bossier City, on Thursday, February 29, 1996 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. McKee Williams. Interment will be at Hill Crest Memorial Park.
Mr. Spurlock entered into rest on Monday, February 26, 1996 at the Garden Court Nursing Home {Bossier City, LA.} after a lengthy illness. He was born in Downsville, La. and lived in Bossier City since 1960. Mr. Spurlock was a retired Master Sergeant with the U. S. Air Force with 20 years of dedicated service. He served his country during W.W. II and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Spurlock was also retired from L.S.U. – Shreveport. He was the past commander of V.F.W. Post # 4588.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Spurlock. He is survived by one daughter, Kathryn Walton and husband, Kenneth of Shreveport; one son, Dale Spurlock and wife Lorna McKenzie of Bossier City; one sister, Jeroline Kitchens of Albuquerque, N.M.; one brother, Riley Spurlock of Addis, La. Also survived by two grandchildren, Samantha Mills and Crissie Walton and two great-grandchildren, Samuel and Ryan.
Military rites will be conducted by the 12th District, Dept. of La. Veterans of Foreign Wars – Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Post # 4588 Auxiliary, Cancer Aid and Research Fund.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-9 p.m.
