She graduated from Wichita High in 1940, the first in her family to do this. She worked as a carhop and in a camera repair shop. She married James D. Williams in 1941 and watched as he went off to fight in World War II. He named his P47 airplane after her. After the war, they settled in Bellevue, Wash. and had their two children, Debra and Sherill. They divorced in 1972 after 31 years of marriage.
Maxine was blessed to find love a second time in life and married Warren Winn in 1996. She worked as an Avon lady for 20 years and was very close to her daughters and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Winn; daughter, Sherrill; granddaughter, Suzy; and siblings, Alfred, Laverne, Harold, Loyd, Ori, Audrey, and Edwin. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Schwartz; her grandchildren, Sarah and Kelly; great grandchildren, Aubrey and Jack; and sisters, Doris and Eva J.
