Sharron D. Claar, 45, of Sandusky died early Sunday morning in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Fremont, she was a 1976 graduate of Bettsville High School and attended EHOVE Adult Education Center. She was employed by Freudenborg NOK as an administrative assistant for the past 14 years.
She was a member of the Fremont Church of God, River of Life, and St. John's United Church of Christ, VFW Post 2529 Auxiliary, American Legion Post 83 Auxiliary and Women of the Moose, Chapter 281, Port Clinton. Sharron was also a supporter and team leader of the Erie County Relay For Life.
She is survived by her husband, Shawn L. Claar, to whom she married June 8, 1979; sons, Corey James, Craig Lee and Chad Lee, all at home; Godchildren, Ashton Speer and Mackenzie Feathers; sisters, Darlene (Paul) Feathers and Jackie Howie, both of Fremont, Lynn Fellers of Bettsville and Lorri (Kevin) Speer of Sandusky; brothers, James Turpin of Cincinnati, Steve (Renee) Turpin of Bettsville and Ron (Sue) Turpin of Amsden; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded by her parents, Jack and Evelyn (Terry) Turpin, and brothers, Jack, Tracey and Eric Turpin.
Visitation: 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky.
Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Rev. Ted Mason of Fremont Church of God officiating.
Burial: Sand Hill Cemetery.
