Son of Auxilius and Julianna (Kneisl) Schratzenstaller. Born in Neuburg and came to Zell bei Neuburg in about 1863 with his parents. Immigrated to the U.S. 30 June 1883 on the ship Rhynland. Returned to Germany at some point, possibly for his father's death in 1889 and then came back to the U.S.,20 June 1890, on the ship Waesland, with his fiance, Frances Ebenhoch, whom he married at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Akron on 13 October 1890. They later separated. Father of Sarah Salyerds, Albert Jr., Wallie Weigel, Jewell Schordoch, Elizabeth VanPeenen and Frances Jung.

Akron Beacon Journal, 20 January 1930:

"Albert Schratzenstaller, age 72 years, died Saturday p.m. Survived by wife Frances, five daughters and one son. Temporary interment in Sweeny Bros. Crypt."

Gravesite Details

Death date incorrect on marker, and birth date off by one day. His daughter, Wallie, always identified his birth date as September 3, which matches the registry in the Neuburg church book.
