BALDWYN - Ruth Gordon Palmertree 68, died Nov. 22, 2010, at her home. She was a Baptist. She retired after 32 years of teaching in public schools. She taught in Oktibbeha County Schools, Houlka, Pontotoc, Caledonia and Wheeler. She was a Graduate of Mississippi State University. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be at 10 a.m. Today at Waters Funeral Home with Danny Cheatham officiating. Burial will be in Old Plank Cemetery near Vaiden. Waters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include, her daughter, Delese Tutor (Mike) of Pontotoc; her son, Jason Murray Palmertree of Baldwyn; her grandchildren, PFC Richard Tyler Tutor, Allison Elizabeth Tutor and Andrew Douglas Tutor; her brothers, Charles Shelton Gordon and Uncle Tom Barnett of Tupelo; her sister-in-law, Martina Mayfield of Vaiden; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Murray and Virginia Barnett Gordon; and her husband, Hiram Palmertree.
